Senglea, Malta

One of the Three Cities. The narrow one in the middle.

Senglea, Birgu and Bormla, known as the Three Cities, are located across the Grand Harbour from Valletta.

Senglea is a beautiful historic peninsula, with traditional limestone buildings, narrow streets, balconies and a charming waterfront marina. Across the harbour, you can see the impressive Fort St Angelo.

Acqua Blu is located right on the Senglea waterfront, where you can enjoy our food while taking in the beautiful harbour views and the unique atmosphere of the Three Cities.

The people who opened it

Acqua Blu was founded in 2021 by Matteo Cardona, chef patron, and his wife Brenda Bartolo. Matteo came to it with a long history in the catering industry, shaped by two mentors — the late Chef Angelo Vitadello and Chef Malcolm Mifsud. Brenda and her team run the welcome.

In the kitchen's own words: every ingredient chosen with precision, every dish prepared with passion, from the signature sauces to the desserts.
